Product Junky to the Rescue…

Having too many choices can sometimes create confusion—especially when it comes to beauty products. I, like so many women, have spent hundreds (maybe even thousands) of dollars on beauty products only to find that I had wasted money on something that isn’t best suited for my skin or hair. Therefore, I’d like to save you, my friends, from making some of the same mistakes I did. So here are my suggestions of some of the best beauty products I’ve tried:

Lip Balm (my fave!)

Carol’s Daughter Lip Butter
This all natural moisturizer for the lips is perfect for wearing alone or under your favorite lip gloss. Realizing that everyone has their own texture preference, this product can seem a little greasy if you prefer a more petroleum or wax-like consistency and require you to stick your fingers in the little tin. However, I love the fact that my lips don’t peel and I use this every morning as a regular moisturizer for my lips after my facial moisturizer.

Burt’s Bees Replenishing lip balm with Pomegranate
I LOVE this lip moisturizer mostly because it goes on so nicely, isn’t greasy and you don’t have to apply it with your fingers. I have a tube of this stuff in my home, car and office. It doesn’t feel as sticky as some of the other Burt’s Bees balms (say that three times fast), and it has a delightful smell—this helps since you will be applying this right under your nose.

Treatment

Dudu-Osun Black Soap
This is a new addition to my natural skin care regimen and so far I love it! The bar produces a great lather and does a great job of cleaning the skin and eliminating excess oil. It can seem a little drying so I make sure to follow up this cleaning with a great toner and moisturizer to alleviate the tight and dry feeling. I don’t recommend this product for removing makeup at night, however, because I’m not yet sure if it removes eye makeup sufficiently enough to advocate this product for that purpose. I would recommend this product for normal to oily skin.

Thayers Lavender Witch Hazel Toner

I came across this product by accident and now I wouldn’t trade it for any other toner on the market. It definitely alleviates any tightness causes by dehydrated skin and acts as a great prep for your favorite moisturizer. I also use it as a gentle eraser for eye makeup mistakes.

Carol’s Daughter Face Butter
If you can’t already tell, I am a HUGE fan of Carol’s Daughter products! This moisturizer is super hydrating and perfect for normal to dry skin—especially during the dry winter months. I actually use this product as my night cream along with a super hydrating eye balm (my choice is Bobbi Brown's Extra Eye Balm) and wake up with super soft skin that’s ready for the day!

So Which Are My Favorite [Complete] Natural Skin Care Lines?

Well, to date I am a super HUGE fan of Carol’s Daughter skin and hair care products. However, in the last year I’ve become very familiar with the products from Origins Organics and have been thoroughly impressed with the Foaming Face Wash and even the Deodorant.

On a more affordable tip, Kiss My Face—which is becoming more available in popular retail stores—is gentle enough for my sensitive skin and has a variety of products to carry me through an entire year as my skincare need changes each season.
